Corn silage is made from stalks, leaves, corn, sheath, corn husks, cobs and fermented in a compost bag or compost pit. It is one of the most valuable forages for ruminants and it is used wherever maize can grow, from temperate to tropical regions.
Corn silage is high in fiber and energy. It is one of the most economical forage production solutions that can be developed based on yield and energy value. The silage must have a dark green to slightly yellowish brown color, a pleasant smell, and a slight smell of vinegar.
