What is glycerin?

As cosmetic system of no added preservatives, ethylhexylglycerin has bacteriostasis, moisturizing effect. Due to a synergistic effect of ethylhexylglycerin, dosage of traditional preservatives in cosmetics are reduced, and the antibacterial effect of multi-functional cosmetic additives such as glycol and fatty acids are improved, and unpleasant odor caused by sebum is suppressed. 

Function of glycerin

in coating industry,used as alkyd resin,polyester resin,and epoxy resin.
in textile and dyeing industry,used as moisture adsorbent,dispersant.
in food industry,used as sweetener,moisture adsorbent of tobacco,and solvent.
Ethylhexylglycerol is used as an emollient, moisturizer and humectant in skin care products of various emulsification systems, as well as in the formulation of surfactant systems such as shampoo and shower gel
moreover,be used in papermaking,cosmetic,leather,printing,photo and metal processing.

Application of glycerin

(1)a colourless and odourless, sweet-tasting viscous liquid and it is hygroscopic.

(2)miscible with water and ethanol; aqueous solution is neutral.

(3soluble in ethyl acetate and ether; insoluble in benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, carbon bisulfide, petroleum ether and oils.

(4)it is a good solubilizer, plasticizer, moisturising and preserving agent.
