Brief historical background
07/01/1806 in Novo-Arkhangelsk in Alaska (now the city of Sitka, USA) the firstborn of the merchant fleet of the Russian-American Company - the Avos tender - was solemnly lowered from the slipway.
07/27/1806 "Avos" under the command of 22-year-old midshipman Davydov in the company of the ship "Yunona" and under the general leadership of Lieutenant Khvostov, went on a secret expedition to assert Russia's interests in the waters of the southern Kuril Islands and Sakhalin. During the passage along the Aleutian ridge to the port of Saints Peter and Paul, the tender crew survived many storms and a forced stop for repairs at the Fox Islands.
In order to secure the Kuriles and Sakhalin to the Russian Empire, bring the local natives (Ainu) into Russian citizenship and force Japan to enter into trade relations with Russia, in 1807 Avos and Juno made numerous military raids. During the expedition, the Avos tender, using its 4-oar yal, successfully boarded a dozen Japanese ships and several landing operations, each time throwing numerous Japanese to flight.
In 1808, Avos, under the command of Lieutenant Sukin, was engaged in the transportation of goods to America. On 10/11/1808, following from Kodiak to Novo-Arkhangelsk, during a storm the ship was wrecked off the coast of Chichagov Island in the area of the Alexander Archipelago.
